Showtime Originals [Showtime TV]

Writer: Lisa Resnick
Client: Showtime Networks

The Commitment

Showtime is committed to providing a steady source of first-rate programming as evidenced by the 1993 production slate which is scheduled to total $70 million. Our slate features 18 to 20 motion pictures per year — even more than most “major” Hollywood studios. It’s a commitment to you: to be a significant and continuous supplier of highly commercial, highly marketable, quality product.

The Script

From concept to development through post- production, Showtime Originals have the look and feel of theatrical releases. With commercially-viable scripts, high production values and multimillion dollar budgets, these films feature compelling actors, places and stories. People want to see them, rent them, buy them. In fact, within the last three years two Showtime Originals — Paris Trout and The Wrong Man — have been featured at the Cannes Film Festival.

The Talent

Louis Gossett, Jr., Kiefer Sutherland, Rosanna Arquette, Forest Whitaker … Showtime taps into the Hollywood community to attract some of America’s most popular stars in front of and behind the camera. Ed Harris, Christine Lahti, Jeff Goldblum and Shelley Duvall; hit directors John Carpenter and Jim McBride — they’re just a few of the talented professionals collaborating on Showtime Originals.
