USDLA

Does the idea of distance learning intrigue you? This trend is increasingly gaining momentum in corporate, anaemic, and social spheres and I am incredibly excited to learn all about it and make it part of my Inkandescent offerings.

That’s why I joined the US Distance Learning Association in 2018. This wonderful organization dedicated to meeting the burgeoning education and training needs of students (K-12 and at the university level) and those in the workforce. Each year, USDLA hosts an annual conference in May — this year in Nashville — where dozens of presenters guide the audience to learn about the latest trends and applications for distance learning. If you are interested in attending or just learning more, see details below.

What I’ve learning in the last year has helped tremendously in rolling out a service for kids and teachers — “Inkandescent Learning,” an online distance learning clearlinghouse where homeschool and public / private school students gain access master teachers from around the world. Through our online Lighthouse Learning Lab, classes include the core curriculum (math, science, history, language arts, foreign language, tech ed, PE, and art / cooking) and exciting camps and workshops to support workforce readiness, global citizenship, and more: www.InkandescentLearning.com.

We’re also launching Inkandescent Kids magazine — an online publication for kids, about kids, and 100% by kids — where our Inkandescent Learning students learn to think like a reporter as they share articles, art, photos and videos around topics ranging from school shootings and the opioid epidemic to food science and space exploration.

Both projects go live in June 2019 when we publish our new Inkandescent Kids book, “I Homeschool My Kids — and you can, too.” If you homeschool your kids, and want to share your story, click here for details: https://txp.inkandescentpr.com/article/?c=i-homeschool-my-kids
