Professional Experience
Academic Tutor / Speech Coach, Franklin, TN Instructor Contract Basis (c. 3 years)- Taught public speaking, speech writing, and debate to varying age groups
- Tutored test preparation in one-on-one settings on a contract basis; one student received a National Merit finalist award after receiving tutoring in test preparation with a focus on math
- Proofread pre-publication manuscripts
- Familiar with document development, style, and grammar
- Recruited volunteer tutors throughout middle Tennessee
- Coordinated tutors in teams with defined expectations, including weekly service
- Developed and presented ongoing tutor curriculum
- Led efforts to engage tutors with refugee children and children otherwise at risk in trauma-informed, respectful ways

- Responsible for reviewing the research regarding these topics and incorporating the research into our paper
- Worked with Dr. Richard Milich, Dr. Elizabeth Lorch, and Dr. Angela Hayden on reading comprehension interventions for ADHD students
- Established rapport and administered test battery (including the Yopp-Singer phoneme segmentation test, the KBIT, and the TILLS) to child participants
- Responsible for construction of senior thesis comparing alternate interventions and their effects on comprehension and motivation
